Dieses barocke Stillleben zeigt eine reich gefüllte Silberschale mit aufgeschnittenen Feigen, hellen Weintrauben, Pfirsichen und Kirschen, im Zentrum eine spiralförmig geschälte Zitrone, deren Schale über den Tellerrand hinabhängt. Vor tiefdunklem Hintergrund und auf dunkelblauem Samtstoff entfaltet sich ein reicher Kontrast zwischen dem hellen Fruchtfleisch und dem schimmernden Metall der Schale. Feine Lichtreflexe auf Traubenhaut und Zitronenschale verleihen der Komposition eine fast greifbare Plastizität.
Als Wandbild im Schlafzimmer oder Esszimmer entfaltet dieses dunkle, edle Motiv seine Wirkung besonders in Kombination mit warmen Olivtönen oder samtigen Textilien, die den barocken Charakter des Bildes aufgreifen. Auch neben Messing- oder Kupferaccessoires kommt der metallische Glanz der gemalten Schale gut zur Geltung.
Die Vorlage stammt von Johannes Hannot, der das Werk "Stillleben mit Früchten" im Jahr 1668 malte. Hannot war ein niederländischer Stilllebenmaler, dessen Werke sich durch präzise Lichtführung und die kunstvolle Inszenierung von Früchten und Tafelgeschirr auszeichnen.
