About the artwork
This Chinoiserie art print depicts a small bird with finely speckled brown and white plumage perched on a gnarled branch. Above it, a bright yellow hibiscus flower with a delicate red center opens, surrounded by palmate green leaves against a cream-colored linen background. Fine characters and a red seal stamp at the edge of the image give the motif its calligraphic, East Asian-inspired touch.
